What Are Nightly Notes?
- They're the opposite of Morning Pages.
- So they're written at night instead of first thing in the morning.
- They are typed instead of handwritten,
- They're public instead of private,
- They're guided by questions instead of flowing freely
- A completed entry consists of six questions and six answers instead of three pages
- Since they are public others are allowed to comment on them
For an interesting variation on daily writing see 100 words.
"To be really great in little things, to be truly noble and heroic in
the insipid details of everyday life, is a virtue so rare as to be worthy
of canonization."
Harriet Beecher Stowe as quoted by Angeles Arrien
in Signs of Life page 63

Tonight's Questions and Answers
Wednesday, January 01, 2003
It is 10:04 pm.
- who impressed me the most today? my partner FB - true he's not a woman but I've acknowledged impressive actions by men before. Anyway, he's been helping me out by doing a lot of stitching on a community quilt I'm assembling for Mayor Abramson's inauguration celebration.
- what did I do all day?(1)worked on the multipurposewoman migration. I've decided to do it on the 11th with whatever content I have put up, (2)hung out with my family at momma's - A & A & B (I like that - I need to make a real cast of characters - later), (3)worked on the community quilt - it's 10 feet x 10 feet (actually a bit larger) and needs to be completed by Saturday afternoon. I'm almost finished and with FB stitching as he watches the never ending football/basketball line-up I'll be done by Friday!! I'm so behind with the work I want to finish for my MA show. woe is me.
according to the phrase finder woe is me is "The oldest phrase that has been in every day use in English from its coinage until the present day. . ." I think that's funny. It's also a little scary that I looked that up. It's heartening though that I found it in 5 seconds - the web rules!
- when did I leave the house today? 3:30 pm
- where did I go today? momma's house - remember?
- why didn't I get more done today? I started bouncing again today and -- okay, the reason I didn't get more done is I spent time with my family. Good reason. And even then I took part of the community quilt with me and my sister helped me stitch.
